Roof preservation, answered

Honest, plain-English answers — grouped by topic, each linking to a deeper guide.

Roof Preservation

What is roof preservation?

A soy-based preservation treatment designed to help extend usable life for qualifying aging roofs, paired with an honest inspection and documentation. It's the alternative to premature replacement. Learn more.

Is it the same as Roof Maxx?

It's the same category (roof preservation) but a different approach. Compare options.

Roof Health Score

What is the Roof Health Score?

A measured read on your roof's condition and preservation candidacy across six factors. How it works.

What's a good score?

Higher points toward preservation; lower toward replacement. See the bands. Read the full published standard.

Insurance & Roof Age

Will preservation help my insurance?

It may support your documentation; insurers make their own decisions. We don't guarantee coverage. Insurance hub.

My insurer wants me to replace my roof — what now?

You have options. Read the guide.

Cost

How much does preservation cost?

A fraction of replacement, depending on roof size, age, condition, and access — provided after inspection.

Is the assessment free?

Yes — the roof assessment is free.

Candidacy

Is my roof a candidate?

Only an inspection can say. Aging-but-sound roofs often qualify; failing roofs don't. Signs of an aging roof.

What if I need a new roof?

We'll tell you. You'll still get a documented Roof Life Report.

Technology

How does advanced preservation differ from oil treatments?

Different mechanism and approach; what matters most is inspection-first and honest documentation. Compare.

Commercial

Do you serve commercial buildings?

Yes — restoration and roof asset management for building owners (restore, don't replace).

The Elytra Lifecycle

What happens after my roof is preserved?

Your complimentary annual reassessment is included — we come back about a year later, re-score the roof, and update your Roof Passport™. No charge, no subscription, nothing to decide on treatment day.

What is the Elytra Continuity Program™?

An optional annual program offered at your year-one reassessment — annual score, updated Passport, photo documentation, storm review, a defined Reliability Reapplication™ allowance, and Preservation Refresh™ price-lock eligibility.

What is a Reliability Reapplication™?

Localized maintenance (up to 2 squares per program year) performed from your annual assessment. Application-related issues are covered separately under our guarantee — and your report states which is which, in writing.

What is the price-lock?

Your assessment locks your quoted price for 12 months — whatever you decide today. Continuous Continuity customers also keep their original pricing for the year-five Preservation Refresh™.

Why do you need my phone and email?

Phone to confirm your assessment window; email to deliver your report and photos. Both are yours to keep, whatever the verdict.

Can I pay for just an assessment?

Yes — a standalone documented assessment is $249 flat (popular with sellers and realtors before listing). Booked homeowner assessments are free.

Reviews / Trust

Can I trust roof preservation?

Trust the providers who inspect first, document, use careful language, and will recommend replacement. Is it a scam?

Where are your reviews?

We're a new local company documenting our first roofs publicly — scores, photos, and verdicts, including the roofs we told NOT to buy anything. Reviews appear as they're earned, unfiltered.
